Learning to build your own web application has so many benefits as well as teaching you to problem-solve and make informed decisions about technology and your business that you would never have thought about when using a CMS.

These skills I find are invaluable and it’s the experience and the journey that leads you to a different place, something that I’ve experienced having built web applications. Thank you for sharing it’s inspiring!

Thank you for sharing the journey, and honesty particularly when facing clients and telling them that "hey we have built our own custom web app". Curious to know what whete the reasons behind choosing Ghost initially, instead of another platform (e.g. Framer)?

Transparency is key to building trust between you and your customers.

Initially, Framer was our chosen platform, but it lacked one crucial element: a robust CMS. After further exploration, we discovered Ghost, and it turned out to be perfect.

Ghost offers a Notion-like drafting platform, a newsletter feature, and a clean, easy-to-edit site.

However, as we pivoted to two separate publications instead of one, we realized it was time to showcase our capabilities and create our own platform.

Those are very valid points! Ghost is also open-source, so that's a plus when it comes to supporting the dev community. Framer has an interesting feature which let's you design components on their editor and import them through URL as React components in your codebase.
